Over the summer I have been very busy working on a variety of projects and maintaining a number of accounts that I have accumulated over the years. Be it edits and updates for drtedeisenberg.com and mariannemitchell.com, or running analytics reports and reviews for bbhi4health.org or bellavistatrattoria.com, I have been very busy keeping my clients happy and up-to-date.
One project that I can’t wait to launch is the updated version of the incompra design site! Like the shoemakers daughter that has no shoes, Sara Hodgson’s and my company, incompra, has been without a full portfolio site for quite a while as we start and stop on it’s development as we need to devote precious time to clients needs. But, we are almost there, with just a few more pages and bells and whistles and it shall be complete. I’ll give my faithful readers—all 2 of you, haha— a sneak peak in anticipation for it’s November launch!
Finally, another pet project that I have been working with is creating social networks for clients. These social networks, such as the one for Inked-Up.com that allows connection and communication for the LGBT community that are interested in different forms of body modification, have given me great exposure to the blossoming social aspect of the web. Using technologies that mimic the functionalities of both Facebook and MySpace, I have been working diligently on leveraging past clients sites, such as Light of Love Unlimited, into a social network situation to allow greater communication among their constituents. I’m excited to say that network will be up and running by November and that this is a service I am proud to offer to my clients!

As of late I have been finding myself doing more and more strategic marketing work within the realm of email blasts and e-newsletters. They say no one will come to your house if they don’t know you’ve built it, so I have been collaborating with a variety of clients such as BellaVista Trattoria & Pizzeria, Marianne Mitchell, Premier Builders, and NoGoodz to create full-scale email marketing campaigns for the 2009 year.
Working within the style guide and branding schemes developed as we were creating their online presence, I’ve been strategizing with clients on the factors that most effect a successful email campaign: audience viability, topic and content conception, market-specific timing, list generation, creative management and analytics review. By using such HTML email services as MailChimp, Constant Contact, and good old hand-coded email techniques, I have been excited to see such a great return on my client’s investments as we use Google Analytics to pin-point certain target markets, interest and timing statistics, and develop forward-thinking plans for future emailers and supplemental marketing initiatives.
So, in order to keep a running gallery of these works so far, I have created a small page that I will update with quick shots of some of the emailers I’ve done. Have a look and let me know what you think!

After a year in the making we have finally launched the BellaVista Trattoria & Pizzeria site! It is a perfect example of why you should never let anyone tell you it’s easy to start a business. We would start on the site, then another aspect of the business needed more immediate attention. “Brand new business” sort of things. Then it would be another few weeks until we touched the site again. And repeat. This had carried on for a year, but finally, bit by bit, we got it all together. Flash gallery, e-newsletters, comment forms, downloadable menus, latest news, Google Maps and Mapquest directions… we’ve crammed it all in there.
We designed the site in keeping with the identity campaign we’ve been working on all year. BellaVista Trattoria & Pizzeria is a family-owned, family-friendly, casual neighborhood restaurant bringing an authentic Italian trattoria to Delaware. So if you’re looking for a hearty soup or a light salad, a grilled veggie wrap or a meatball parmigiana sandwich, you’ll find it on their menu – along with entrees like Pollo Saltimbocca, BellaVista Pescatore, and Melanzane Rollatini.
Beyond that, I am planning on getting the Biden Breast Health Intiative, Kosherclothing, DelVal, and BellaVista into my sites section sometime this holiday season. Right after I finish writing this book on Web Design for 1st-year Design students, and designing that other book on buildings, and that other site for organic bath robes. Well, maybe before all of that.
