Odds and Ends

the designsBefore my two-week long excursion to Costa Rica, I had been rushing around to launch a couple of sites for clients of incompra, as well as updating some other sites that I’ve been managing for a long time now. The interesting thing about these sites is that, although they are well-made and meet the clients expectations/needs, they are not exactly portfolio worthy for one or many reasons.

For the most part they are repetitious in form for my portfolio. Meaning that I have examples in my online cache of projects that are already filled by earlier and more fleshed out web sites. And all of the rules and reads on portfolio construction dictate to put only your best and most proud work in — that unseen editing is also a sign to the reviewer of your overall savvy and skill. Furthermore, these sites are young: just hatched. And although there may be visual and functional elements that I am tickled by, for the most part there are areas that I know over the next few weeks or months will grow, be changed, or even just tweaked.

So what do I do? Do I make a sidebar list of just-borns? Something that doesn’t take any limelight and necessitates a keen eye to fall upon? Or do I leave them out entirely and wait for them to grow into whatever form they will one day become? Even then they may never “make the cut”. Or am I giving into to some unwarranted fear that if I don’t detail every new venture I take the online world/potential client sphere will think I’m doing nothing?

For now I will put a small list here, in this blog post. To give the little guys at least a moment to shine:
